What is Cold Laser Therapy?
LASER: stands for Light Amplification via Stimulated Emission of Radiation
Low Level Laser Therapy does not heat the tissue more than a couple degrees Celsius
•Energy Source
What makes up Laser Light?:
•absorbs energy and emits it as light
Laser Material
• Cavity
•channels the light into a beam
TISSUE HEALING
Removes damaged tissues and brings in substances
When an injury occurs, the body responds with inflammation this is when the body sends blood cells to the area.
Inflammation is necessary for healing, but too much inflammation can begin to cause damage to the surrounding tissues. The Laser leads to faster healing and moves the tissues out of the inflammation stage and into the repair stage, the effect is decreased pain and inflammation.
Laser then stimulates new blood vessel formations, fibroblast activity, bone and collagen production.
